Daily Marriage Prayer

Heavenly Father, through the intercession of the Holy Family, help us treasure the gift of marriage that reflects the love of Christ for the Church, where the self-giving love of husband and wife unites them more perfectly and cooperates in Your divine plan for new life created in Your image. Help us support men and women in their vocation of marriage, especially in difficult times when they join their sufferings to the Cross. Help us uphold the institution of marriage in our society as the place where love is nurtured and family life begins. Help us acknowledge that our future depends on this love and on Your providential care for us. Amen

FOR VACATIONING PARISHIONERS: On July 1st weekend, Fathers Michael and Jesús officially started their ministry in our Parish. They said all the Masses together to make sure everyone had a chance to meet everyone. Father Mike on his homily at the 10:30AM Mass spoke of the changes and the underlying impact to all. He acknowledged how our parishioners miss Fathers George and Steve while at St Mary's parishioners miss him. Sixteen years ago in 1996 when Father George joined St Luke, Father Mike replaced him at St Mary. Sixteen years later in 2007 again he replaces Father George this time as Father George retires from St Luke. Father Mike reflected on the potential sense of loss to both parishes. Specially to young parishioners in both parishes to whom Fathers George and Steve here and Fr Mike at St Mary may be the only priests they have ever known. To them and many parishioners of all ages, the transition may come along with some greater sense of sadness. Father Mike urged us not to forget Father George and Father Steve at all, but to instead make room in our hearts to learn to love him and Father Jesús. He explained that unlike material things like our homes that are often filled to capacity with our possesions, our hearts have an unlimited ability to love. The more we love, the more capacity to love we have. At the end of the Mass and before the final blessing Father Jesús introduced himself and spoke briefly about his background. Born in Colombia, he attended seminary university in Baltimore here in the United States. He mentioned he recognizes some faces both from when he was a Deacon here as well as when six years ago he said his first Mass at St Lukes right after being ordained. Father Jesús also asked the parishioners not to be shy, and that if they had difficulties understanding him because of his accent, to feel comfortable telling him so. At the end of the Masses there were long lines, as people met our new priests. While we may miss Fr George & Fr Steven, we're sure the parishioners from Milford and Gardner miss Fr Mike and Fr Jesús. God Bless our priests both past and present. And may we all grow closer to our Lord, our God.

  Prayer of Saint Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;

Where there is injury, pardon;

Where there is doubt, faith;

Where there is despair, hope;

Where there is darkness, light;

And where there is sadness, joy.

O, Divine Master, grant that I may

Not so much seek to be consoled as to console;

To be understood as to understand;

For it is in giving that we receive;

It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;

And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Help us meet our goalPARTNERS IN CHARITY: We are happy to announce that this past June way ahead of schedule, we reached our goal of $107,000!!! We are extremely grateful to the nearly 500 people in the parish who contributed to the drive. They showed that they recognize their responsibility to help the church in its numerous programs and ministries. Like Jesus said, "when I was hungry you fed me... when I was in jail you came to visit me". Partners in Charity benefits over 30 local charities & organizations, some located right here and/or benefiting local parishioners in Westborough. We are especially grateful to Robert Mazzalupo who has chaired and directed this program for many years. We hope that he will continue many years in the future.

World Missions Prayer

Lord Jesus Christ. you told your apostles to proclaim the good news and to make followers of all nations. They gave their lives to you. and for you, to spread the Gospel throughout the world. Today, the faithful still strive to bring your name to those who need it most. Give your strength to missionaries around the world who give their lives every day in lands far from home. Help those charged with bringing your word to be an example of you for those who cannot read your word for themselves.

Help those who do their work in your name to inspire others to seek you as their Savior. We ask this through you, Christ, our Lord, Savior of the world. Amen.

2006 numbers (scroll up for 2007 numbers): Partners in Faith is a yearly collection at the Diocese level that distributes its money to 30-40 charities in our town and surrounding areas. The 2006 goal for our parish was $107,000, but we actually collected $108,645 which represents 1,645 extra or 102% of our goal. To see the target (goals) for all parishes in the area click here.
