The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven is a
Catholic dogma proclaimed under papal infallibility by Pope Pius XII in 1950.

The painting above is one of the best known or more famous of the Assumption in all of Western art. The painting's title is Assunta and it was created by Tiziano Vecellio also known as Tizian, Titian and Titien in 1516-18.
