Starting first as a parish nurse, Julie Basque was named a pastoral associate here at St. Luke’s in 2015. A pastoral associate is a non-ordained lay ecclesial minister who is qualified to serve the parish in a broad leadership role, under the direction of the pastor.
Julie Completed a Masters of Arts degree in Ministry from St. John’s seminary’s laity program in May 2015.
Julie helps to oversee the pastoral care of the sick (those homebound, in nursing homes or at Whittier Rehab), facilitates bereavement support, coordinates initiatives for deeper spiritual growth, facilitates groups to enrich Catholic family life, and acts as a liaison to those leading the extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion and the lectors.
Julie lives in Westborough with her husband Jim and stays close with her two young adult children Kate and Andy.
