“The Lord Jesus Christ, physician of the souls and bodies, who forgave the sins of the paralytic and restored him to bodily health, has willed that his Church continue, in the power of the Holy Spirit, his work of healing and salvation, even among her own members.” (The Catechism of the Catholic Church)
Through the Sacrament of Reconciliation (sometimes called “confession” or “Sacrament of Penance”), we acknowledge our failure to love (sin), and through the ministry of the priest, receive Christ’s forgiving grace. The grace of the sacrament helps us to grow in more perfect love for God and for one another.
At Saint Luke’s the Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered at 4:00 pm every Saturday. The Reconciliation Chapel is located to the right within the main body of the church.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is also celebrated at seasonal penance services during Advent and Lent, as well as during parish retreats. The sacrament may also be celebrated by making an appointment with one of the parish priests.
No one need worry about “what to say” or “how to confess.” The priest is happy and eager to guide you through the prayers of the sacrament.
