Welcoming the stranger raises our awareness and attentiveness to meet the needs of our neighbors with open minds and hearts. Jesus himself has commanded us to “love one another as I have loved you.”
For many years, St. Luke’s has been known in our community as a welcoming and charitable parish as we have welcomed strangers and friends alike. With the growth of our parish family - in number and cultural varieties - we are compelled to joyfully extend our “welcome” in new and exciting ways!
Our Welcome Ministry team will take a fresh perspective of “welcome” working with our St. Luke’s staff and ministries and across all aspects of our church – from the way we greet and onboard newcomers, to how we enhance our “welcome” across our liturgy, ministries, programs, buildings and grounds.
And that’s just the beginning! Come and be part of this exciting new ministry as we build upon our welcoming hospitality and works of mercy. Like the many colors and textures of our beautiful Church rectory garden, our parish family too has uniquely gifted people and families growing together in unity. Let us put our gifts to bring joy and welcome to those who enter through our doors of mercy. Your ideas, talents, and gifts are welcome!
